How Night Oil Hydrates Your Skin While You Sleep
How many times from a hard day of work have you come home and just wanted to flop into bed with little concern for your skin? It seems harder to remove makeup at that point than scaling a mountain, and applying night cream seems as hard as running a marathon. It may sound like a smart idea to miss your rituals of nighttime beauty and go straight to our beauty sleep, but in the morning, child, you will regret it.
Everyone knows that every morning and every evening before bedtime we must cleanse and tone our skin. This is non-negotiable, and I recently wrote about cleansing's significance. When you want to wake up feeling refreshed and looking fabulous, your nighttime routine goes beyond washing and toning. It also means hydrating the skin with the application of a night cream before bedtime. Don't worry, though: it should only take a few short minutes of your nighttime routine. Whatever you do, do not just flop down on the bed when you get home from work or school. It's all over if you do that and your skin won't have a chance. Walk right into your bathroom when you get home and stick to a quick beauty routine. You would be glad to have done so when the alarm clock goes off in the morning.
Of course, in order to remove dirt, oil, and other impurities from your skin, your first step is to always give your skin a good cleansing. This is the perfect way for a long day to finish. Think about all the yucky things with which the skin comes into touch during the day. Pollution, ashes, cigarette smoke, or even cooking on a stovetop or a BBQ. Today, did you spray cologne, room deodorizer, or spray your hair? If so, then maybe those things are on your skin now. Have you eaten, coughed, blown your nose, or even touched your face once? Think of what's on your forehead, if so. Start with a good, clean face and cleanse and tone your night accordingly. Proper cleaning and toning will help your night cream without any intervention to work its magic.
When it comes to nourishing and hydrating your skin, night cream is very crucial. The best thing is, when you are sound asleep, it works. Night cream is for males and females alike. Yes, that also includes you, gentlemen. You need night cream on your skin just as much as you need a woman's, but you're not off the hook here. In fact, if you shave and apply aftershave every day, you might need even more night cream than women do, because your skin might be desperate for some hydration.
Why do you need night cream?
An evening cream, of course, will moisturize your skin. A night cream can double the skin's moisture and promote the benefits of anti-aging. Your skin will not absorb night creams as easily as most daytime lotions, and they are typically much richer in texture. For a longer period of time, this intense procedure helps you to keep your skin looking more youthful. I just think about the missed hours of nourishment and hydration that I should have given for my skin whenever I get a little lazy and think I can forget about my night cream. I'm holding night cream and cleaning clothes on my nightstand right now. And if I wake up in the middle of the night and have forgotten to apply my night cream, when I'm half asleep, I just reach for it and apply it. It's that necessary and the extra effort is worth it.
To look its best, skin needs sufficient hydration. Yeah, as Susan and Samantha both say, to hydrate the body as a whole, we need to drink plenty of water, but we also need to apply products to our skin to keep it moist, too. It doesn't look good on dried out skin. That's why people with dry skin appear to look a little older than they really are. It is all about hydration, and no matter what kind of skin we have, we all need it. With little to no effort on your part, a rich night cream utilized on a nightly basis will provide much needed hydration. So, there are really no reasons not to do it.
How to apply night cream
Place a dot of product on your brow, nose, chin, and every cheek (5 dots). If the dots are on, in an upward and outward motion, just rub your night cream into your face. Once you have massaged all of the product into your skin, do a self-assessment to see if additional product is needed. Only add some more if you do, until you are content.
Treat your neck as a face extension and also be sure to add night cream there. Your neck can be a sure giveaway to your real age, so keep it hydrated by using all of your skin care items in this area as well.
It literally comes down to this: every evening before you go to bed, give your skin a few minutes of your time. Cleanse, tone, add your eye cream, your serum, and don't forget your night cream most of all. Hopefully, while you do nothing but get some beauty sleep, you can have a good eight hours when your skin can be pampered and nourished. You may wake up with skin that looks tired and lackluster, or you may wake up looking and feeling more youthful and refreshed.
